Global Virtual Experts (GVE) was founded with a mission deeply rooted in the experiences of its founder, Craig Mauer. Craig's career spanned a decade in Hospitality and Tourism, and two decades in the Construction industry, owning and operating businesses that created jobs and improved homes.
In 2020, the pandemic prompted Craig's shift to remote work, where he discovered the potential of working with Filipino Virtual Experts. His collaboration with these talented virtual experts, showcased the efficiency and dedication of remote talent. Witnessing the positive impact on his business and the families of the Experts he worked with, Craig was inspired to create GVE in 2023.

Craig Mauer
CEO AND FOUNDER
Craig Mauer is passionate about helping business owners grow their businesses while improving their work/life balance by providing Virtual Experts. Craig worked in Hospitality and Tourism for a decade with 7 of those years in Ski Area Management. He managed over 100 employees as a Base Operations Manager. Craig has owned 3 businesses in the Construction industry over the last 20 years creating countless jobs and improving hundreds of family homes. He has owned a Design Build firm in North Seattle since 2010 called Silver Peak Design Build.
Work/life balance is a priority for Craig. When he is not working, Craig is a lifelong board sports enthusiast and can usually be found playing in the mountains with his family, on the water with friends, listening to music, at home cooking in his custom kitchen, or geeking out on History while hanging with his 2 dogs.
Craig’s experience with international Virtual Assistants began in 2020 due to the Pandemic. During the Quarantine, Craig adapted to working remotely by switching to QuickBooks online so that his bookkeeper would not need to come to the office. Craig began using Zoom for design meetings with clients rather than meeting at their houses. Around this same time, a close friend and business mentor encouraged him to try hiring an Executive Assistant from the Philippines, named Alma, to help with Silver Peak Design Build. Hiring Alma was game changing and after a few months of working together, Craig saw his workload reduced significantly. In 2021, Silver Peak hired their first full time Virtual designer/draftsman named Kate. With a college degree in drafting from the Philippines and 5 years experience, Kate quickly adapted to collaborating with the Silver Peak team, procuring all construction permits, and working with Seattle homeowners on their house designs. She was promoted to Pre-Production Management within her first year, creating all written materials for Silver Peak’s production team and ordering many of the materials for the team’s construction jobs. With the addition of these individuals marked a pivotal juncture in Silver Peak's strategic planning, as it initiated the development of systems poised to catalyze future expansion. This strategic move not only translated into securing larger projects but also optimized operational processes for the entire team. Amidst these remarkable developments, Craig increasingly found himself with additional leisure time to allocate toward his family and prioritize critical business matters.
In 2023, after enjoying 3 years of success utilizing Virtual Assistants, Craig had an epiphany that this was too good of an opportunity not to share it with the world. With 2023 American unemployment numbers at 3.5%, American small businesses were all struggling to hire and keep good talent. After discussing the idea for GVE with several business owners and real estate agents, it seemed that nearly every growth minded business owner in Craig’s friend group wanted a Virtual Assistant. Thus, Global Virtual Experts was founded. GVE’s goals are not only to help the American businesses that they serve but to in turn raise the standard of living for their talented Filipino workers. Craig saw firsthand how hard his Virtual Experts worked and how much their jobs benefitted their families in the Philippines. This inspired him to want to continue to do more!
